Ok, I’ve decided to update this with the hilarity that’s been going on around the internet. As such I’ll just post some random opinions from “fans” that are apparently VERY disappointed with the roster…
“Bloody hell, they’re really going out of their way to ignore SF3 characters, aren’t they? Of all the other Alpha characters..Rose? Wow, I played her once and never again, what a boring character she was.”
Yes, as playing a character once really let’s you know the inner workings of them. Thank god for SF3 characters having such brilliant designs that they aren’t “boring” to you, right?
“They should add a SF3 row and you have the best 3D fighting game ever conceived”
So by implimenting 2d characters into a 3d rendition of a 2d game we’d have the best 3d fighter ever?
“Ugh…They wasted development time and resources on joke character Dan, when they could have put some other “serious” character that we will actually use in the game.”
Yes, like Remy or Twelve right?
“This game started out looking like a Street Fighter II remake. Now it became a Street fighter II vs Alpha. I’m not really impressed, and I’m not really interested.”
Good, that’s one less whiny douchebag to deal with when it hits consoles.
“Rose. Fucking Rose. FUCKNG ROSE. You Capcom motherfuckers. Goddamnfuckingrose is in…and no SF3 characters in sight. Ono fails at life confirmed.”
Yes, FUCKING ROSE. A hugely popular character from the Alpha series that has a playstyle different to the standard shotoclone. I guess diversifying the roster really does signify when someone “fails at life”. Moron.
“It’s like capcom is pretending the best SF game ever doesn’t exist. I wanted Remy and Ibuki at least
”
Well yeah, it makes sense that a retarded ninja and the useless emo version of Guile would be better to add to the roster than anything else. Right?
“…it would have made for a truly new feeling SF roster instead of the SF2 roster with extra characters. Drop Balrog for Dudley…or drop Zangief for Alex…or even drop Guile (gasp!) in favor of Makoto.”
Gee, I remember Capcom trying something like that. Nobody cared, so they added Akuma, then nobody cared so they added Chun-Li. Nobody cared again, until a video came out with alot of parrying at a fighting game tournament…oh wait.
These haters haven’t even touched this game, yet are compelled to be complete asshats on a constant basis by spewing pessimism and retarded opinions all over the place. Look, WE GET IT that you don’t like the new characters. WE GET IT that you want your favorite, low tier and most likely awful SF3 character to show up so you’ll feel comfortable. It’s not going to happen, so instead of going off on moron tangents about it, why don’t you just focus on a game you’re interested instead of trying to force your uninformed opinion on everyone? At least you’d be productive for once.
That’s tight that Rose is in it…but what is up with some Dudley! I don’t give a fuck bout the rest of the cast, plus for some reason I could see the second super art being his ultra…so it’d be nice to actually see it for once.
Keep it up with the updates pimpin.
Ya know, out of the entire “new” SF3 cast I think Dudley offended me the least. But with Balrog already sittin’ pretty on the roster I doubt we’ll ever see him. However, it would be fairly neat to see ‘dream matches’, so to speak, between the older and younger generation of characters.
Perhaps in an offshoot or semi-sequel (we all know how much Capcom loves miniscule updates within their franchises’ “sequels”) this could be a possibility. Hell, I sincerely doubt we’ve seen the end of the SF4 engine for a looooooooooong time (both gameplay and aesthetically).
The REAL question is – where the fuck does this leave the rest of Capcom’s franchises at? Could we be in for a Rival Schools or Star Gladiator sequel using the SF4 graphics engine? What about another Darkstalkers? COULD the SF4 engine become Capcom’s new “standard” for fighters (much how like the Darkstalkers/Alpha graphics style was the standard throughout an entire decade worth of titles)?
Well, Rose in it… Cool, hey!!! Sure. I’ll enjoy watching how they worked on the character to put it in the Street Fighter 4 engine. But sincerely, Ibuki is definitively NOT a retarded Ninja… And Twelve could be Deaaadly. Doesn’t mean I wanted Twelve in this game ^^… But pleeaaaase Ibuki’s whorth some respect!! (sorry for my bad English, I’m French!)
I play Street 3thrd Strike (and then Ibuki) for 8 years now (since the Dreamcast version) and then waaay before that Daigo video, and I won’t waste a minute talking sh*t about Street Fighter 4: let’s have trust in Capcom’s skills!! Can’t wait for February 20th!!!
It’s nice to have the ‘Street Fighter nostalgia’ feeling back. I loved Alpha and am more than happy to see characters I’ve followed in games, movies and comics return. Street Fighter 4 already feels more apart of the franchise than Street Fighter 3 ever did. Sure it would be nice to see a couple SF3 characters in there if at least to shut up faggots moaning about the game but I wouldn’t care if they weren’t in cos hey, I still have 3rd Strike on Ps3.
Let’s face it, the SF3 fans who are hating the game are only doing so because they don’t have any characters in. I can bet this will change the second one is in.
Yeyyyyy Rose!!
hmmmmmmm F all fighter if ibuki is not in there. ya akuma and sakura is in there and that kool but i dont need one more SF2 remake it need more new and old fighters that are not in SF2
Guy well be good to put in the fight if thy add some more moves for hem
